Several weeks ago, I had visited a brewery.
Aside from having a good conversation with the staff and tasting some excellent brews, my visit to Almost Famous was a unique one. A friend of mine had tagged me into a Facebook ad about being a featured artist at this brewery and the opportunity to showcase one’s artwork. Within the hour, I had sent an email asking for the chance to submit some of my pieces of being accepted.
Sandy, the brewery manager and the lady totally rocking the peace sign with me, above, not only was happy to have my artwork, but also asked if I could swing by and take a look around. Almost Famous gave me a tour and tasting of their beer.
Yumm :)
I was then able to see the space where my art will be displayed. Kind of a surreal feeling at this point. This whole room will be covered in my creations - I had to pause and think about this... The last time I had my art displayed was for a JCPenney’s mall window school contest or a college art exhibit. Now, it’s all my type of work and style for people to view and possibly commission.
I got home and started some major brainstorming on questions I needed to ask myself;
~ What my showcase will consist of?
~ What styles I need to really hone in on with my skillset?
~ What will get me recognized as an artist?
I will be continuously posting about my creative thoughts and works in progress for this brewery exhibit all the way through June. There will also be announcements on showcase times, as well as, some fun exhibition events to hang with me and my art!
Next, I will reveal the showcase name and art categories that will be exhibited…Stay tuned!
