It’s January 2021 and people are already looking for their return receipts for a trade in. I hear you. The past 10 months of going dark, here, from this blog, have been a total crazy train of events that could make anyone go “Looney Tunes”.
My drawing of Bugs and Elmer Fudd in my favorite skit of them at the Opera
What has kept me level headed? It was the little things.
My health.
My family.
My art.
So that I would keep my head level, I would draw Beetlejuice and Lydia loosing theirs, lol!
Anytime I needed to take a trip somewhere from the four walls of my home, I would turn to drawing. And not just any type of drawing…it was like getting-into-my-Delorean-and-speed-up-to-88-miles-per-hour-to-go-back-in-time type of drawing. I love retro. The 80’s and 90’s were so rad. Maybe it was the fact that I didn’t have the super 2020 type stress that I have now, but I really like seeing my old childhood characters come to life, again.
Think we are needing some sparkle and light from Rainbow Brite
I also recently had an art challenge that I created, for the month of November, called #Retrovember. It allowed me to open the door wide on my retro art. To keep the retro high going I then decided to make my birthday, in December, a Zoom retro trivia night with my girlfriends.
Lol! We were laughing and singing along to the old school tunes, man, did I have a blast…even if it was just on a computer screen.
Some gifts I received before starting up the Zoom Birthday Retro Night, the card I go says it all
This year I will be “leveling up” my artwork and continuing my geeky retro journey - with a twist or two along the way. Make sure to check out my Artwork on GeekGalGO. I am now selling 5x9 prints and stickers, as well as opening up commissions for customized avatars and traditional art. Contact me if you are interested :)
